Database Administrator

Job Responsiblities:

Work in a team environment to remotely maintain and support production databases
Install, Configure, Troubleshoot, and Maintain SQL Servers (SQL Server 2000, 2005)
Define & Manage Permissions across database servers
Monitor and optimize Database performance (query optimization, managing indexes, disk optimization etc )
Implement & monitor Backup & Restore policy
Batch Jobs scheduling and monitoring, including import/export scripts
Database Development – Write stored procedures, SQL queries
Database design – create normalized tables and establish relationships
Guide Junior DBA’s (For Senior DBA)

Experience: Junior DBA - 1-3 years of relevant experience

Senior DBA - 3 years and above of relevant experience

Working Knowledge in areas (added advantage/optional):

Data Warehousing
Hands on experience on different databases like Oracle, Sybase, DB2 etc.
Databases on Unix / Linux platform
Database Monitoring Tools

Work history of the following attributes:

Excellent communication skills (writing, verbal)
Ability to work as part of multi-location project teams
Leadership (for Senior DBA)
Quick Study & Response
Self Starting
Attention to Detail
Problem Solving

Education: Graduates/Post Graduates in Computer Science/Engineering or any professional degree, MS SQL DBA certification (preferably)

Designation: Database Administrator

Salary: Commensurate to experience

Location: Mumbai, India

Required to Travel Abroad: Potentially for short durations
